Bringing Clean Water to Tribal Villages
Drinking Water Facility At Tribal Villages i.e. Dongarshet, Mohacha Pada & Chirpada
Goal – Our aim was to ensure that everyone in the community had safe drinking water. These tribal villages were located in a hilly area, and during the hot summer, they struggled to find enough water. They had to walk about 2 kilometers to the river in the hills every day, carrying water pots on their heads.
Work Done – We had found a spot by the river where water always flowed. We dug a well there and used a pipeline to bring water to the village. This way, everyone could have easy access to clean water.
Better Air for Hostel: Improving Ventilation
Improve Ventilation at Dhondegaon Ashram Shala
- Two Hostels: Large sheds, each about 100 meters by 35 meters, divided into 7 by 2 sections. The height is approximately 5 meters.
- Problem: It gets very hot inside during the summer, making it hard to sleep. Also, the windows (3 feet by 4 feet) don’t have mosquito nets.
- One Mess: Similar shed with the same heat issue.
Work Done:
We installed 6 turbo ventilators in each hostel and 3 in the mess, we installed 15 turbo ventilators in total.
We put mosquito nets on all windows (24 for each hostel and 12 in the mess), which meant we installed 60 nets.
Helping Tribal Women: Giving Smokeless Stoves for Better Lives
Improve Livelihood of Tribal Women — Distribution of smokeless chulhas
The smokeless chulha was a simple but effective way to cook indoors without harmful smoke. It was designed to combat the silent danger of indoor air pollution. This energy-efficient stove significantly cut down on the amount of firewood needed.
Benefits: In the past, a rural family typically used around 3000 kilograms of firewood in a year. With the improved chulha, which used 50% less firewood, it saved 1500 kilograms each year. That was like saving at least three fully grown trees. If an entire village with, let’s say, 200 firewood-burning households had switched to these improved chulhas, the village could have saved 600 trees every year. More trees saved meant a better environment and less pollution. The improved chulha used less firewood, which also meant fewer carbon dioxide emissions. Autocomp distributed 225 smokeless Chulhas in tribal area
Bringing Sunshine to Tribal Hamlets: Lighting Up with Solar Power
Installation of 17 Solar Lights at Tribal Hamlets
We aimed to brighten the lives of tribal communities by installing solar lights in their hamlets. These solar-powered lights provided sustainable and reliable illumination, improving safety and quality of life in these remote areas while reducing dependence on non-renewable energy sources. It was a step toward a brighter and more sustainable future for these communities.
The benefits of installing solar lights in tribal hamlets were:

- Environmentally friendly.
- Improved quality of life and community development.
